Senior Amazon support staff explained that Apple requested Amazon force all Mac kindle users to upgrade to the 10.10 before they can use the latest Kindle app. And on sep.15th the app on my iMac will no longer work at all anymore. Available for Mac OS and Windows PCs, the Send to Kindle app is free to download and easy to use. Once installed, simply sign into the app using your Amazon credentials and right-click on the PDF. Issues with disappearing or non-working e-books can sometimes be caused by the Google Play Store: Go to the Play Store app. Go to the Kindle app page. Select Uninstall. Tap menu in the top left (vertical lines). Select Settings. Select Auto-Update Apps. Select Do Not Auto-Update Apps. If Google Play Store is not installed, try this: Connect online. Kindle App Although I do not have my IPad yet (fingers crossed for an in-store purchase on the 30th). My Kindle app for the IPhone, PM and the Mac asks me where to deliver the book I ordered. Having said this, you must have a Kindle to have a Kindle account.
Hello, Chris Milligan.
It's my understanding that your Kindle app is getting stuck on the initializing screen. I do have some suggestions that may help. First, force-quit the app: How to force an app to quit
and restart your MacBook Air. Then check to see if there are any updates. Make sure to have a stable data connection as well.
If the issue still persists, try a test user account and safe mode:
How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac
Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac
Another possible solution can be to delete the app and download it again but before doing that I would make sure you have your data backed up. I would also recommend reaching out to the developer of the app before going through that process as well.
Let me know if this helps.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Cheers!
